Lhakpa Ri

Lhakpa Ri is another attractive climbing peak which divides the upper East Rongbuk glacier and the upper reaches of the Kharta glacier. From its summit one has wonderful views of little known mountain chains and peaks tall and not so tall, such as the Nyonno Ri range in eastern Tibet, the north face of Chomolonzo and the north faces of Makalu and Pethangtse, Shartse, the east face of Kangshung and Lhotse. It is a technically straightforward climb with a minimal danger factor and easy accessibility. There are also unrivalled views of the north east ridge of Everest, the North Col, Changtse, Cho Oyu and Shishapangma.
